Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a prevalent mental illness that affects up to 2.5% of the population; that’s roughly the population of Los Angeles! Accurate assessment of OCD is critical for effective treatment planning. The Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale© (YBOCS) is the gold standard clinical interview for the assessment of OCD symptoms and severity. Attendees to this workshop will be given hands-on training in the administration of the YBOCS© to help them fully and accurately diagnose their clients.
Join us for this half-day virtual workshop designed to help mental health professionals improve their understanding of the diagnosis of OCD, and learn how to administer the YBOCS© to fully capture all of a patient’s OCD symptoms and accurately assess the severity of those symptoms. In our deep-dive into assessing OCD using the YBOCS©, this workshop will broaden and deepen your understanding of the diagnosis of OCD and how to spot it in your patients.
We will walk attendees through the correct administration and scoring the YBOCS© to help accurately identify patient-specific symptoms and determine the overall severity score. We will also present on how to use the information gathered in an accurate YBOCS© administration into your clinical work with OCD clients. This training is appropriate for all licensed mental health professionals, or those working under the license of a mental health professional.
